Eaton Canyon Falls Trail

Hiking Time: 2 hours

Total Distance: 3.5 miles

Elevation gain: 375 ft

Difficulty Level: Moderate

Weather Conditions: 62 degrees with drizzle

When you think of Los Angeles, hiking trails and nature may not be the first things that come to mind. Nestled in the San Gabriel Mountains, Eaton Canyon is a moderate hike that has both a scenic view of LA and a waterfall as the final destination. Belu and I did this trail on a cloudy day. Luckily it didn’t start raining till we were back in the car.

The beginning of the trail starts with this hallway of yellow wildflowers. The flowers were such a pretty contrast to the brown dirt road. flowers

These blue zella pants have great stretch and kept me warm throughout the hike.

What shoes are great to wear on a rocky mountain? Nike Trail Running shoes of course! They were sturdy and kept my feet comfortable. Best part of the shoe is the grip on the bottom that made it safer to walk on slippery surfaces.

Panoramic view of Los Angeles. Isn’t that gorgeous? LA is definitely a lot more green from this angle.

This Lululemon top has become my favorite article of clothing. I own 3 colors! It is both lightweight and stylish. You can dress it up or down and is great to wear for light to moderate exercise.

The dirt road eventually leads to the stream of the waterfall. There are a few deaths reported every year of hikers who go to Eaton Canyon waterfall and climb rocks that are not suitable/safe for climbing. Please use caution and DO NOT do anything foolish. You are at your own risk.

Arrived at our destination. The waterfall was smaller than I expected but was still worth the trip.

See you in the wild!
